A custom shower enclosure transforms a bathroom — opening up the space, letting natural light reach the tile and stone you chose so carefully, and giving the room a finished, contemporary feel. At Glassworks of Tucson we've been designing and installing custom enclosures for over 40 years, and our team will help you pick the configuration, glass, and hardware that fits your bathroom and your budget.
Every enclosure we build is custom-measured and fabricated. That means a precise fit — no awkward gaps, no off-the-shelf compromises — and a finish that's built to last decades, not seasons.
Choose from Six Types of Shower Enclosures
1. Bi-Fold Door
Space-saving and inward-opening, the bi-fold is ideal for smaller bathrooms where a swinging door would block fixtures. A clean, contemporary look without sacrificing usable floor space.
2. Sliding Door
A contemporary focal point that works beautifully in compact bathrooms. Sliding doors glide on smooth, low-profile tracks and pair well with modern tile and fixtures.
3. Pivot Door
Pivot doors save space, feature large grip handles, and excel in corner installations. The pivoting action lets the door swing both ways, making it easy to clean and reach the controls.
4. Pentagon
Built to fit perfectly into a corner with a curved or angled front, the pentagon enclosure maximizes space in tight bathroom layouts while creating an elegant, sculptural focal point.
5. Walk-In
Open, luxurious, and splash-proof — walk-in enclosures use standing panels rather than doors to create a spa-like experience. Perfect for larger bathrooms where openness is a design priority.
6. Quadrant
Quadrant enclosures fit neatly into a corner with a smooth curved effect, blending classic styling with modern craftsmanship. A great pick when you want maximum floor space and a soft visual line.
Choose the Right One
Picking the right enclosure starts with three questions about your space. Our designers will walk through these with you in our showroom or at your home.
1. Space
Standard versus walk-in is largely about square footage. We'll measure your bathroom and recommend the configuration that gives the most useful space without compromising the design.
2. Positioning
Corner installations and center placements each have advantages. Corner enclosures are space-efficient; center placements can become the room's focal point.
3. Glass
Glass thickness affects durability, weight, and cost. We carry standard 3/8" and heavy 1/2" options and will walk you through the tradeoffs so you get the right balance for your project.

Frequently Asked Questions
What types of shower enclosures do you offer?
We build six classic styles: bi-fold, sliding, pivot, pentagon, walk-in, and quadrant. Each is fabricated to fit your specific bathroom — no off-the-shelf compromises.
How do I choose the right style for my bathroom?
It comes down to three questions: how much space you have, where the enclosure sits in the room, and how thick you want the glass. Bi-fold and quadrant enclosures save space in smaller bathrooms; walk-in and pentagon styles work best with more square footage. Our team will measure your space and walk you through the options.
What thickness of glass do you use?
We carry both standard 3/8" and heavy 1/2" tempered glass. Heavier glass is more durable and easier to clean but costs more and weighs more (which affects hardware choice). We'll explain the trade-offs based on your project.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. We provide free, no-obligation estimates either at our Oracle Road showroom or in your home. Call (520) 721-7893 to schedule.
What cities do you serve?
We serve Tucson and Southern Arizona, including Marana, Green Valley, Catalina, Vail, Oro Valley, SaddleBrooke, and Sahuarita.
How long does installation take?
Most residential shower enclosure installations take a single day after fabrication is complete. Custom fabrication typically runs 2–4 weeks from approval to install, depending on glass and hardware selections.
